With this issue Dr. Richard L. Day assumes the position of Chief Editor of the a. m. a. Journal of Diseases of Children. The editors of the Journal feel very fortunate in having Dr. Day accept this position because of his extensive background in clinical pediatrics, education, and research.
Dr. Day was born in New York City, graduated from Harvard Medical School, and received his hospital training at the Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Conn. and at the Willard Parker Hospital and The Babies Hospital in New York City. After serving in the Department of Pediatrics of Cornell University and then Columbia, Dr. Day was appointed Professor of Pediatrics and Chairman of the Department in the newly reorganized Medical School of the State University of New York at New York in 1953, which position he still holds.
