The second edition of this very excellent textbook in Spanish, the first edition of which appeared five years ago, has been brought up to date by additions in the latest therapeutic advances and diagnostic procedures. New or more complete chapters have been added on cortisone, psychological approaches to many pediatric problems, odontology, the premature infant, and the acute abdomen.
There has been no change in the general character from the early edition, which was marked by clarity of exposition and a well-organized development of the various topics discussed. This is an excellent textbook and, although in Spanish, is easily read. It should be of great value to the pediatrician.
