ABSTRACT

This is a manual designed for the use of the school health officer in Great Britain. The author is obviously a man of considerable experience in the evaluation of the child as a whole. Chapters are included on the sociological background, clean linens, clothing and vermin, past medical history and accommodation, and other requirements for school medical inspection. In addition, there are chapters covering every phase of physical examination, including growth, posture, gait, dental deformities, and diet.

The book is small, well written, and nicely printed. It would be valuable reading, not only for school health officials, but for any physician dealing with children.
