A technique for stratigraphy has been worked out in the x-ray laboratory in which the x-rays are focused on a given horizontal plane of the body from an angle, the film and the patient both being rotated during the exposure. Thus pictures of various parts of the body can be obtained. There are presented some excellent illustrations from films which show horizontal x-ray views of various levels of the body trunk; they visualize pathology in congenital malformations of the heart and great vessels, of the anterior and posterior mediastinum and thymus, and of the pancreas, the bladder, and other abdominal organs.
