In this monograph, written in Spanish, the author states the belief that many instances of myocarditis are etiologically at least aggravated by a vitamin deficiency that is brought on by parasites such as Schistosoma (bilharziasis). However, any parasite that causes any damage to the liver may interfere with absorption and synthesis of vitamins.
This thesis is discussed at length, and many examples are given. There are 69 roentgenograms of pathological cardiac conditions, 10 pathological microscopic sections and 6 electrocardiograms included. A good bibliography of material in all languages on vitamin deficiency is included.
