The first section discusses psychologic, neurobiologic, and educational assessments of children, school consultation, and psychiatric assessment of medically ill children. It reviews the diagnosis and treatment planning and 1 chapter addresses the assessment of infants and toddlers.
Section 2 of the book deals with common child adolescent psychiatric disorders. Its 6 chapters cover attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, disruptive behavior disorders, child and adolescent affective disorders and their treatment, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and childhood trauma. Comorbidities are emphasized. I found the appendices of chapter 10 useful.
