This book consists of a series of lectures that were part of a course in pediatrics offered by the faculty of the Institute of Pediatrics and Infant Welfare of the Hospital de Clinicas of Buenos Aires, during July 1948.
These conferences are on therapeutics, diarrheas, malnutrition, rheumatic fever, obesity, tuberculosis, vomiting, nephrosis, meningitis and the various causes of pain in the limbs of children. In an appendix other pediatricians who were not on the program offer short, well written discussions on the latest advances in the therapy of various diseases of childhood.
Inasmuch as each of the authors is a specialist in his particular field, the aim of each article is to inform others of the actual treatment that the institute is carrying on and to discuss the reasons such treatment was adopted and the results obtained.
