ABSTRACT

This interesting little monograph written in Spanish is based on the author's studies on the nutrition of premature and full term newborn infants. He concludes that to attain correct growth one must fulfil the laws of nutrition. To obtain these ideal results, he has devised the following formula:

in which A means allowance in grams, DL—1, days of life less one, N O D, number of days needed to reach the definitive allowance and Ad. A11, the adaption allowance in grams. Many examples are given of the adaption of this formula to actual instances. His patients all appear to have gained weight satisfactorily. Although written in Spanish, the book is easily read by anyone interested in this problem.
