To the Editor:—In the February 1943 issue of the American Journal of Diseases of Children in the article "Premenstrual State in Young Girls" it was stated on page 304 that no report of studies on the vaginal reaction had been found in the literature. My attention has been called to the excellent article by Gertrud Soeken, "Beitrag zur Physiolgie der Pubertät: Der Umschlag der chemischen Reaktion im Vaginalsekret" (Ztschr. f. Kinderh. 47:27, 1929). Mr. Tuchewicz and I regret this oversight.
