The first part is taken up with the shipment of clinical specimens, with detailed information as to how this should be done. There follow a long chapter on the bacteriology of specific communicable diseases and one on the bacteria common to shellfish, to milk, to water and to sewage. There is a chapter on chemical procedures, and several appendixes on various subjects complete the pamphlet. The whole is carefully indexed.
