ABSTRACT

A knowledge of physiologic processes and their normal variations during infancy and childhood is fundamental for the intelligent practice of pediatrics. In this book the growth and development of the child as a whole and of the various systems and organs of the body are completely discussed. The contents are divided into the following sections: growth, the osseous system, the musculature, the glands of internal secretion, the nervous system, the organs of the special senses, immunologic reactions, the skin and heredity. The subject matter is presented in an excellent manner. This volume is highly recommended to every physician who deals with children.
