Columbia University Medal Awarded to Dr. Chapin.—At the commencement exercises at Columbia University on June 6, President Butler presented to Dr. Henry Dwight Chapin the university medal for excellence awarded in recognition of his outstanding contribution to problems relating to the care of children.Lectures in Pediatrics.—During the summer and fall a one day lecture course in pediatrics will be conducted in eleven districts of Illinois, under the auspices of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the educational committee of the Illinois State Medical Society. The following cities have been tentatively selected as the centers: Chicago, Rockford, Rock Island, La Salle, Peoria, Springfield, Quincy, Champaign, East St. Louis, Effingham and Benton. Subjects to be covered by the course include care of the new-born, care and feeding of infants, preventive pediatrics, behavior problems and discipline in children, and general treatment of the sick child. The five pediatricians who
