The third edition of this standard work, containing additions in illustrations and instructive cases, now makes an excellently illustrated textbook. The book in every way fulfills the requirements of a textbook on the diagnosis of disease in the child. Treatment is not considered except when it is essential for diagnosis. The material presented is treated in a brief and concise manner. Like the other editions, the subject matter does not follow the system used in most textbooks. Instead of following the course of a certain disease, symptoms are described and the disease and conditions in which they occur are enumerated.
