Picture of the Month Quiz
A 6-year-old healthy South Asian boy presented to a pediatric dermatology clinic for evaluation of hypopigmented macules on the cheeks, readily diagnosed as pityriasis alba. On physical examination, an incidental faint papule with a tuft of hair emerging from a central pit was noted on the midline of the nasal bridge (Figure). The patient's mother reports that it had been present since birth and had not changed at all over the years. His medical history revealed only an inguinal hernia repair, and his growth and development were appropriate for his age.
